History

J.W. Jennings began his funeral service career in 1927 in his hometown of Etowah, Tennessee. He came to Rome, Georgia and in 1931 purchased a local undertaking firm. He was joined three years later by his brother, Frank.

Because America was in "the Great Depression" in the 1930's, few people could afford a funeral. Jennings Funeral Home became synonymous with dedicated personal service and quality products . . . regardless of a family's ability to pay.

The Jennings family eventually sold their business to a large corporation with Parnick Jennings, Sr. selling in 1988 and Parnick Jennings, Jr. selling in 1995. They both remained active in the funeral profession until recently when Parnick Jennings, Sr. decided to pursue other interests. Parnick Jennings, Jr. remains active as a funeral director and consultant to our funeral home in Cartersville.

Andy McGuire and Barry Miller formed a partnership and purchased the funeral homes in 2008. We are excited to return to our roots as an independently owned and operated funeral and cremation service provider!

"Each family you are serving deserves the best of yourself and your service."
