Obituary for Jerry Edward Ray

Jerry Edward  Ray
Mr. Jerry Edward Ray, 57, of Adairsville, died Saturday April 5, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born in Winter Haven, Florida on February 17, 1957, he was the son of Robert Ray and the late Walcie Mill Ray. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and Cartersville Lodge #63, F&AM. He was employed by General Motors for ten years before becoming disabled. Jerry was an outdoorsman enjoying NASCAR, landscaping and was a hot rod car enthusiast.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Marla Ray of Adairsville; his father, Robert Ray (Alice) of Adairsville; his daughters, Jennifer Overby (Frank) of Cartersville and Christina Ray of Athens, TN; his son, Phillip Ray (Brittany) of Adairsville; his sister, Patty White (Randall) of Knoxville, TN; his brothers, Charles Ray (Kathy) of Murfreesboro, TN and Fred Ray (Heather) of Adairsville; along with four grandchildren, Kayla and Quentin Overby and Katie and Ethan Ray.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Eric Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday for two hours prior to the service.
