Obituary for Jimmy Rayburn Wilson

Jimmy Rayburn  Wilson
Mr. Jimmy Rayburn Wilson, Sr., 70, of Cartersville, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born June 12, 1944 in the Stilesboro Community, he was the son of the late Muriel G. Wilson and the late Leila Sewell Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, and the Ambassadors Sunday School Class. He was retired from Union Carbide and also worked for America’s Auto Auction. Mr. Wilson was a member of Cartersville Lodge #63 of Free & Accepted Masons. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed old cars.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shirley Wilson; daughter, Connie Hardin and her husband Terry of Cartersville; son, Jimmy R. Wilson, Jr. and his wife Teresa, also of Cartersville; sisters, Louise Casstevens of Cartersville, and Bobbie Davis of Rockmart; grandchildren, Justin Sanford, Caleb Wilson, Paul Wilson, Parker Hardin, and Allee Hardin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Sammy Burgess and The Reverend Joe McKaig officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
