Obituary for Ethel Godfrey Templeton

Mrs. Ethel Godfrey Templeton, 93, of 34 Stoners Road, Adairsville, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at her residence.
Born August 19, 1921, in Jasper Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Mathews and the late Ola Higdon Mathews. Mrs. Templeton was of the Baptist faith and a good, loving person who was very generous to everyone. She was a one of a kind mother and especially loved kids. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her late husbands, Henry P. Godfrey and Hugh S. Templeton; daughter, Virginia Ann Godfrey; grandchildren, Fredia Lynn Channell, Paul James and Laura Jo James; great-great grandchild, Bailey Marie Bell; brothers, Fred, Cleaston, Homer, and Lynn; a sister, Belmer; sons-in-law, Harold Long and Harley Turner.

Survivors include her children, Austin Godfrey and his wife JoAnn of Cartersville, Mary Turner of Cartersville, Barbara Ann Godfrey of Cartersville, Ronnie Godfrey and his wife Lillie of Cartersville, Imogene Long and Terry Collum of Adairsville, Harvey Templeton and his wife Janet of Cartersville; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Josh James officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5 until 8:00 p.m.
