Stanley "Sonny"  May

Mr. Stanley “Sonny” May, 72, of Cartersville died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born in Murphy, North Carolina on September 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Luther May and Muriel Elliott May. He was a member of Kingston Holiness Church and loved to preach God’s word and sing. Mr. May was a carpenter by trade and was owner/operator of May & Sons Construction. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jones May and his grandchildren; Justin May, Hunter May and Alexander May.
He is survived by his children, Terri Walker, Randy May and wife, Linda, Deborah Andrews, Michael May and wife, Kim, Jody May and wife, Dawn and Phillip May; his grandchildren, Kim Sewell, Daniel Lieving, Elijah May, David and Brian Andrews Austin May, Nick May, Andrew Cordle and Adam May; his brothers, Larry, Jerry and Gary May; his sisters, Peggy Marks, Joyce Crabtree, Sandra May, Linda Walsh, Carolyn Whitmire, Betty Ledford, Mary Brown and Barbara Grams; his best friend, David Montgomery; and his beloved dog, Itty.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014 in Oak Hill Cemetery with Brother Lawrence Sanford officiating. Interment will follow.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brian Andrews and Michael Weaver for taking care of Mr. May during his illness.
