Obituary for James "Jamey" Wheeler

James "Jamey" Wheeler
Mr. James “Jamey” Wheeler, 37, of Euharlee died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Emory University Hospital.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida on November 22, 1976, he was the son of James Larry Wheeler, Sr. and Veronique Wheeler Pelfrey. He was a member of the Cartersville First Baptist Church. Jamey was an avid sports fan. He loved and followed almost all sports but especially his Georgia Bulldogs. He was raised off the coast of Georgia and around the water is where he felt most at peace. Basically, he loved nothing more than the simple things life had to offer; family and friendship. Jamey was a man who loved his children with all of his heart. Actually, they were his heart. You could tell that was a fact by the look on his face every time he looked at them or talked to you about them with pride and a big smile on his face. Through Riley and Sam he will live on. His whole family will miss him so much and will hold him in their hearts forever. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Herbert Hunter and Reverend Cecil Wheeler and Jesse Wheeler.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Pate Wheeler of Euharlee; his children, Riley and Sam Wheeler of Euharlee; his mother, Veronique Wheeler Pelfrey of Cartersville; his father, Larry Wheeler of Kingsland; his sisters and brother-in-law, Amanda Crymes (James) and Taylor Crymes; his grandmother, Ann Hunter; his aunts and uncle, Lisa and Wade Petty, Guy Hunter and Mary Lancaster.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Andy Postell and his life-long best friend, Chris Gay. The family will receive friends on Saturday for one hour prior to the service.
