Obituary for Shirley D Cagle (McBurnett)

Mrs. Shirley D. Cagle, 79, of Cartersville, widower of the late Homer “Doc” Cagle, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at her residence.
Born August 16, 1935 in Adairsville, GA, she was the daughter of the late W. L. McBurnett and Myrtle McBurnett of Cartersville. Mrs. Cagle was retired from Shaw Manufacturing. She was of the Baptist Faith and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother who never met a stranger. Flowers were her passion and especially loved gardening. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bud McBurnett.
Survivors include her mother, Myrtle McBurnett of Cartersville; daughters, Rhetha Collum and Johnny of Cartersville, Brenda Padgett and Terrille of Cartersville; sons, Richard Norton of LaFayette, Charles Norton of Kingston, Douglas Norton of Cartersville; sister, Glenda Gray of Cartersville; brother, Harbin McBurnett of Calhoun; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 6 until 8:00 p.m.
Serving as Pallbearers will be David Collum, Greg Gibson, Richard Townson, Coby Gibson, Dustin Norton and Steven Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Collum, Terrille Padgett and Johnny Wayne Evans.
