When I heard he was in the hospital, I put on the heart bracelet he gave me at AWANA and he had one too! I have net dared to take it off yes and I will wear it until it wears out!!!!! But I have Big feeling that this will last forever!!!!!!!!!! Just like our friendship!!!!!!

Jakob Wilburn was a good friend of my in 6th grade at Woodland Middle. I didn't have a lot of classes with him, only chorus, but I got to know him pretty well and also got to know that he loved God with all of his heart and soul. He was always kind, loving, and funny to everybody that he met, including me. I'm praying for all of his family members that are taking his death hard, but just know that he is in a better place right now, with God...the one he loved most. God Bless! <3

I have been the family tree keeper for 24 years. I have logged many many deaths, but this one is the saddest one I have ever had to add. To us, this is a death that should never have happened, but God has different plans. I do not want to add this death to the tree, but as long as Jakob's name is listed, then he will continue to live in our hearts. I know that one day we will get to see Jakob (and all of our other loved ones) one day, but as long as his name is remembered, he will live.

It has been so special to have watched Jakob grow over the years with him at CBC. To see him transforming from a young boy into the wonderful young ma. This summer he went off to camp and came back changed forever after he made the decision to give his life to God. I enjoyed watching him witness to others on outings and just enjoying life everyday. He would sometimes sit and eat dinner with me and my daughter just before Wednesday church and was always such a sweet and polite young man. This year he was one of the youth leaders for VBS and did a fantastic job teaching the children how to sing and dance and praise our Lord! Jakob my buddy I hope you save a spot for me at your table when I get to heaven.

I can still remember the day in his grandparents yard, Jakob, Erich, Megan & Madison playing next to my new truck with sticks. Jakob stuck it a couple of times on the tailgate. I did nothing about this. The truck was replaceable. Jakob was not. I've known Jakob since he was a blessing in his mothers womb. His spirited presence will be missed.

We had the honor of meeting Jakob while being neighbors to his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Freeman. He loved playing with our dog Jack. He was a good spirit and a joy to know. It is hard to believe he was taken so young. However, the Good Lord called him home. Prayers are with all the loving family.

Our family had the honor of knowing Jakob for about 5 years as we attended church together. Jakob was in Sparks and T&T and SS with our son, Benjamin. He always had a smile. Such a sweet boy! Just a few days prior to entering the hospital, Jakob sent me a Facebook friend request and then after I accepted it, he wanted to know if I remembered him. I wrote him back saying that we did and telling him the ages of our kids and asking about his family to which he replied about their ages. So I was in shock that a couple days later he was so sick. I was so glad he had reached out to reconnect with us even though we had moved away and it sounds like this year with Jakob's surrender to the Lord and his baptism that God was orchestrating all these events to bring him home. What a blessed life God gave Jakob!! He will be missed but I know he's praising God today and forevermore!

I am so very sorry for your loss, there is no doubt in my mind that Jakob's job in heaven now is to love and guide his sweet family when they need him. Remember that he is always with you, loving and guiding all of you. When you need strength, lean on him, he is there and will guide you through all of your struggles. You have an amazing guardian angel now. His life here on Earth was short lived but in Heaven it has only just began. I know he's looking down and smiling right this very second.
