Obituary for Joann Farmer

Joann  Farmer
Mrs. Joann Farmer, 71, of Adairsville, died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center. A native of Bartow County, born December 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Griffin Jones and Julie Bell Callahan Jones.

Mrs. Farmer was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and retired from the Bartow County School System where she was a part of the lunchroom staff. She loved to cook, shop, watch soap operas and spend time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Mulkey and a brother Donnie Jones.

Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, Charles E. Farmer, Sr. of Adairsville; her son, Chuck Farmer and girlfriend, Melanie McDermott of Adairsville; her daughter, Marie Clark (Kevin) of Cartersville; her grandchildren, April Fletcher (Josh), Chris Farmer, Marina Clark, and Dakota Rogers; her great grandchildren, Kayden and Kinslee Fletcher; her sister, Sue Sosebee (Charles) of Fairmount; her brother, Michael Andrew Jones (Cindy) of Coosa; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Fred Roland and The Reverend James Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Norman Farmer, Jr., Seth Dowdy, Josh Fletcher, Corey Clark, Erick Ingram, and Clyde Sumner.
