Obituary for Daniel Maki

Master Sgt. Retired Daniel Maki, 60, of Cartersville, died on Monday, December 15, 2014 at his residence. Born in Waukegan, Illinois on August 25, 1954, he was the son of the late Alexander Arnold Maki and Eileen Rowe Little.
Mr. Maki was retired from the United States Air Force as an aircraft maintenance supervisor. He served in the Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He enjoyed participating in the Boy Scouts of America and serving as the Scoutmaster of Troop 54 in Cartersville. He was also a member of the Eagle Scout Board of Review for the Northwest Georgia Council. For a number of years he was the manager for the Eastern Seaboard Musical Band.
Survivors include his wife, Colleen Maki of Cartersville; his siblings, Sandy Sanders (Johnny) of Rusk, TX, Allan Maki (Susan) of Virginia Beach and Sydney Little of Athens, GA; his children and step-children, Shannon Foster (Bryan) of Virginia Beach, Allison Morris (Lee) of Cartersville, John Maki of Woodstock and Evan Timbs of Cartersville; his grandchild, Garret Foster of Virginia Beach; along with his special longtime “almost family” friends, Mark Myers, Stephanie Fulton and Kenny Schweizer.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Joe Nix officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
