Mr. Jerry Wayne Bentley, 59, of Cartersville passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Cartersville Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1955 in Carrollton, Georgia and was the son of the late Roland Bentley and Bertha Mae Britt Pope Bentley.
Mr. Bentley was of the Holiness Faith and was employed by GMS. He was very outgoing, a big joker and enjoyed doing woodwork and remodeling. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Hubert Bentley.
He is survived by his fiance’, Connie Wood; his children, Brandy Hooper, Stacy Bentley, Sue Ellen Bentley (Butler), Tammy Bentley, Kevin Bentley, Ashley Jones, Marcie Bentley, Jessica Bentley, Tiffany Abbott, Kimberly Holcomb (Brad Gorman), Melissa Hooks, Bailey Neese and Alec Neese; his siblings, Roy Bentley, Verna Mae Bentley, Mary Goolsby and Kathy Eason all of Carrollton and Shirley McKee of Temple, Georgia; along with numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Darrell Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitesburg, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
