Obituary for Ernest ""Ernie"" Reese

Mr. Ernest “Ernie” Reese, 83, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015, following a lingering illness, at his residence. Born in Early County, Georgia on December 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Ernest William and Willie Nell Harrell Reese.
Ernie was a member of Life Pointe Congregational Church and was a man of strong Christian Faith. He loved his family very much. He was owner/operator of Reese Carpet for 20 years, owner of the Cartersville Bowling Center and founder of Cartersville Marine. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling. In addition to his parents, Ernie is preceded in death by his step-son, Steve McCoy and two sisters, Clementine Hayes and Williezell Helms.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Ann Reese of Cartersville; his daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Buford Lipscomb of Pensacola, Florida; his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Glenda Reese of Cartersville; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three brothers and sisters –in-law, Rudolph and Betty Reese of Jakin, Georgia, Ronnie and Robina Reese of Powder Springs, and Roscoe and Margie Reese of Ocala, Florida.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Nathan Sanders, Reverend Buford Lipscomb and Reverend Josh Lipscomb officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Lipscomb, Josh Lipscomb, Tim Storey, Aaron Collins, Billy Reese, Todd Caroline, Garrett Collins and Reese Lipscomb.
