Obituary for Christopher Columbus Mulholland III

Mr. Christopher Columbus Mulholland, III died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his residence.
Born April 26, 1935 in Durham, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Christopher Columbus Mulholland, Jr. and Margaretta Taylor Mulholland. Mr. Mulholland was a Branch Chief for the Health Care Finance Administration for the United States Civil Service Agency, retiring with 36 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing music, watching the Braves, was a regional story teller, an avid fisherman and a collector and restorer of Aladdin lamps. A graduate of Duke University, he was a people person and family man. He also raised baby quarter horses for racing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Lonetta Essary of Taylorsville; his daughter, Leigh Anne Mulholland Etters and husband, Tim of Greenwood, South Carolina; his sister, Susan and Fred Moore of Storm Lake, Iowa; his brothers, Ronald and Judy Mulholland of Sun City Center, Florida and Carl Mulholland of Ashboro, North Carolina; his grandchildren Anastasia Etters and Mike Etters; his great-great grandchildren, Eli Lovin and Lillianna Lovin; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Reverend Kirk Bozeman and Reverend Alan Fuller, Heyman Hospice Chaplin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Trinity UMC or your favorite charity.
