Obituary for Juanita Faye Carnes

Mrs. Juanita Faye Carnes, 87, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at home. Born in Virginia on July 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late James Commodore Sutphin and Lelia Clyde Weddle Sutphin.
Mrs. Carnes was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family along with quilting and crocheting. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her twin sister, Paulita Updegrove and brother, Clifford Sutphin.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Adrian Carnes of Cartersville; her daughters and sons-in-law, Priscilla C. Absher of Cartersville, Andrea and James Wilson of Kings Mountain, North Carolina and Renita and Tony Walker of Cartersville; her sons, Adrian “Ricky” and Nell Carnes of Augusta and Clinton “Ted” and Lynnette Carnes of Glennville, Georgia; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Anabelle Quesenberry of Bridgewater, Virginia and Lelia Jackson of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Mr. George Lee and Ms. Norma Pierson officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
