Obituary for Arvel Owen Montgomery
Mr. Arvel Owen Montgomery, 77, of Cartersville, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born on November 27, 1937 in Gwinnett County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Homer Montgomery and Pauline Johnson Montgomery .He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 47 years Margaret Fancher Montgomery, and one daughter Debi Davis. Mr. Montgomery was retired from Flowers Baking Company after 22 years. He enjoyed playing cards and NASCAR racing.
Survivors include his son John Atticus Montgomery (Carolyn) of Cartersville, his grandson John Atticus Montgomery, III (Anna) of Danville, Virginia, one great granddaughter Maggie Montgomery and his companion Alice Mobley of Kingston.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
