Obituary for Larry Cook

Mr. Larry Ellis Cook, age76, of Cartersville, died on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Born in Gordon County on May 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Cook and Mary Eloise Ellis Cook. Mr. Cook was a Deacon at Creekside Fellowship Church and was retired from Bellsouth with 30 plus years of service. He enjoyed fishing, had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry R. Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Cook of Cartersville; his son, Daniel and Lindsay Cook of Bogart, Georgia; his grandson, John Ellis Cook of Bogart; his sister, Peggy Cook of Canton; and his brothers, Steven Cook of Dallas, and Bill Cook of Union Hall, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Creekside Fellowship Church with Pastor Michael Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, that those who wish, may make donations to Creekside Fellowship Youth Ministries, P.O. Box 936, Cartersville, Ga. 30120 in memory of Mr. Cook.
