Obituary for Dennis H Temples

Mr. Dennis H. Temples, 70, of Cartersville, died Friday, April 22, 2016 at his residence. Born July 10, 1945 in Cartersville, he was a son of the late Mr. James Temples and the late Mrs. Jessie Waters Temples.

Mr. Temples retired from Lockheed Martin. During his time at Lockheed he served as a Union Steward. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was a Mason. Dennis loved church; he was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Center Baptist Church. He sang with The Kingdomaires and The Songsman Gospel Group. He loved all sports and enjoyed refereeing and umpiring.

Survivors include his wife, of 51 years, Brenda Temples of Cartersville; daughter, Lorri Wilson and her husband, Phil of Cartersville; grandchildren, Jesse Morris, Zachary Morris (McKayla Fears); A great-grandchild due in June; step-daughters, Michelle Branam, Richelle Pate; brother, Jimmy Temples and his wife, Barbara of Cartersville; sister, Dondra Shook and her husband, Russell of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Cox and Reverend Danny Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Center Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Clark Millsap, Zachary Millsap, Hunter Horton, David Flowers, Darrell Abernathy and Derick Lanham. Serving as Honorary pallbearer is Joseph Pate.
