Obituary for Judy Boyd Smith
Judy Boyd Smith, 58, of White, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Floyd County on August 2, 1957, she was the daughter of Joyce McMichen Boyd and the late Thomas Jackson Boyd.
Judy was employed by Northeast Georgia Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She was a wonderful nurse and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family and enjoyed doing needle point, traveling and had an affinity for cacti and anything southwestern. She was very eccentric and unique in every way.
Survivors include her mother, Joyce Boyd of White; her daughter, Erin Shifflette and husband, Cameron of Winder, Georgia; her son, Lance Gresham and wife, Katie of Gainesville; her sister, Cathy Hightower Barton and husband, Craig of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Jackson, Madilynn, Lexi and Baylee; and her nephews, Grant and Heath Hightower.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Lamar Guyton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, May 27th at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted but for those who choose, donations may be made to Relay for Life.
