Mrs. Johnnie Odom Frey, 82, of Cartersville, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Cartersville Health and Rehab. She was born in Blairsville on May 27, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Clyde Odom and Ruth Warren Odom.

Mrs. Frey was a member of Iron Hill Baptist Church. She loved her family very much and especially her grandchildren. She was an incredible cook and was known for making the best fried taters, fried chicken with gravy and fried okra. Also in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, both vegetable and flowers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Bartow Stewart, Angie Lee Mauney, Annie Marie Dean, Muriel Cotton, Jessie Echols, Billy Odom and Wayne Odom.

Survivors include her son, Robert Odom (Sylvia); her daughter, Sylvia Inez Garcia; her grandchildren, Robert Charles Odom, Joshua Jamesray Stephens; her sisters, Irene Reece and Chloe Jean Esposito.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Dan Guider officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Robert Charles Odom, Joshua Jamesray Stephens, Allen Barfield and Dave Pratt will serve as pallbearers.
