Obituary for Joe "Bowie" Mulkey

Joe "Bowie"  Mulkey
Mr. Joe “Bowie” Mulkey, 60, of Cartersville, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Rome. A native of Bartow County, Joe was born on August 13, 1956 and was the son of Joel Allen Mulkey and the late Brenda Faye Jenkins Mulkey.

Joe was a plumber by trade. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed watching Western movies, the Falcons, the Georgia Bulldogs and any other kind of sport. In addition to his mother, Brenda, he is preceded in death by his brother, Luke Mulkey; and his mother-in-law & father-in-law, Louise and Bud Davis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tina Davis Mulkey of Cartersville; his son, A.J. Mulkey of Cartersville; his father, Joel Allen Mulkey of Cartersville; his sisters, Mary and Martha Mulkey both of Cartersville; his brothers, Harvey Mulkey of Cartersville, John Mulkey of Taylorsville and Lloyd Mulkey of Cassville; along with a special nephew, Brody Blackmon of Cartersville.

A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, August 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery with The Reverend Michael Abernathy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.

Bobby Davis, Nick Davis, B.J. Bearden, Billy Jenkins, Shane Jenkins and Bud Davis will serve as pallbearers. Jimmy Mullinax will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
