Obituary for William Gravley

William Jefferson Gravley of Cartersville passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. He was a native of Bartow County, born on March 27, 1928, the son of the late William J. Gravley and Ruby Bohanan,

Mr. Gravley retired from New Riverside with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and fixing things. William loved his family with all of his heart and will be missed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Edwards Gravley; his daughters, Frances Smith and Susie Gravley; his step-son, Larry Mooney; his step-daughter, Brenda Stephenson; and his sisters, Ella Brown, Lois Brown, Aretta Davis and Ralph Gravley.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Gravley (Sue), Greg Gravley (Teresa) and Tracy Gravley; his daughters, Patsy and Susan Gravley; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his step-son and step-daughter, Jeff Mooney and Wanda Dover; along with his sister, Ada Brown (Raymond) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Mark Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Gravley, Toby Gravley, Jason Jordan, Daniel Brown, Ricky Cabe and Charles Blalock.
