Obituary for Charles Forsyth

Charles  Forsyth
Mr. Charles Lee Forsyth, 84, of Kingston passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at his residence. Charles was a native of Bartow County, born March 14, 1932, to the late Henry Forsyth and Mary Lou Abernathy Forsyth. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Jamie Forsyth and Charles Osborne.

Charles served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he played the piano and bass until he was no longer able. He sang with the Country Gentlemen and Gospel Five. He loved his family and enjoyed making people laugh. Anyone who came to see him would get a thorough tour of his fruit trees and flowers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dora Lee Forsyth; sons Michael Forsyth (Gaile), Randy Forsyth (Rena), and Tracy Forsyth (Annie); brothers Johnny Forsyth and Herbert Osborne; sisters Henrietta Moore, Mary Ghorley and Martha Ghorley; grandchildren Alan Forsyth, Jarrod Evans, Chad Forsyth, Corey Forsyth, Ashlee Smith, Anna Forsyth, Shayna Wilson, Leah Forsyth, and Joseph Forsyth and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home, Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Greg Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kingston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 13 from 6-8 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Alan Forsyth, Jarrod Evans, Chad Forsyth, Corey Forsyth, Joseph Forsyth and Tim Day.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 1810 Euharlee Road, Kingston, GA 30145.
