Obituary for Walter Jack Bunkley, Jr.

Walter Jack  Bunkley, Jr.
Reverend Walter Bunkley, Jr., age 89, of Rydal, died Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Bradenton, Florida on July 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Walter Jackson Bunkley, Sr. and Betty Bennett Cooper Bunkley.

Reverend Bunkley was an educated man, a Theologian and was retired from the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Wray First Presbyterian Church in Wray Colorado and served more than 52 years ministering in many other churches. He was an avid reader enjoying military history and watching NCAA football. Being the knowledgable man he was, he performed Physco Therapy for inmates in both Mississippi and West Virginia.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Ann Lamar Bunkley of Rydal; his daughters, Juliet Madena Bunkley Sheets and husband, Troy of Greely, Colorado and Jane Bunkley White and husband, Jeff of Kennesaw; his son, Britain Lee Bunkley of Rydal; 4 grandchildren, Cassidy Bennett Barnhart, Harper Grace Sheets, Hattie Wray Sheets and James Cooper White; 2 great-grandchildren, Avery Jane and Alyssa Rose Trevino; along with his sister, Jane Williams Sherlock of Marietta.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Pine Chapel United Methodist Church in Resaca with The Reverend Greg Moore officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The March of Dimes, 2625 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta, Georgia 30060.
