Obituary for Mary Ray Franklin

Mary Ray  Franklin
Mrs. Mary Ray Franklin, 96, of Cartersville, died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at her residence. A native of Bartow County, she was born on September 6, 1920 the daughter of the late Jessie Bohannon and Leona Andrews.

Mary was retired from Cartersville Undergarment as a seamstress with 40 years of service. She was very kind hearted and was always concerned for other well beings. She was a collector of dolls and enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Lloyd Benjamin Damron, Stanley Ray, Gary Mitchell Ray and Barry Michael Ray; along with her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Doris Turner of Marietta; her sons, Wilson Eugene Ray of Cartersville, Jerry Ray of Adairsville and Danny Ray of Cartersville; her sister, Juanita Kilgore of Marietta; her brother, Gordon Bohannon of Cartersville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation with The Reverend Robert Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Terry, Zachary and Matthew Turner, Robert and Jesse Bohannon and Bennie Hardman will serve as pallbearers.
