Obituary for Raymond Adcock

Raymond  Adcock
Mr. Raymond Lester Adcock, 83, of Cartersville, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Bartow County, born August 16, 1934, the son of the late Willie Edmund Adcock and Ulsa Viola Adkerson.
Mr. Adcock retired from the United States Air Force as a load master on C-l30. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was mechanically inclined. He was a good father and will be missed by his family. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife of 60 years, Mary Jo Harris Adcock; his sisters, Mary L. Martin, Ruth Cooley and Virginia Whitley; his brothers, Weldon, John, Howard, Richard and Benjamin Adcock.
Survivors include his children, Janet Fields (Ricky) of Cartersville, Alvin Glenn Adcock (Dinah Lynn), Barry L. Adcock (Mitzi) of Calhoun, and Jeffrey D. Adcock (Michelle) of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Andrea Adcock , Shannon Banks (Ernie), Dana Sloan (Brett), Mindy Key (Andy), Asheley Wilkins (Stephen), Marcus Cheyenne Fields, Aaron Fields (Kristi), Lance Brown, Zachary Brown and Erica Lilly; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Lillie Thacker of Rome; and a brother, Roy Adcock (Ann) of White.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017, in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Elder Arthur Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Lance Brown, Stephen Wilkins, Marcus Cheyenne Fields, Aaron Fields, Hunter Fields and Andy Key. Zac Brown and Everett Key will serve as honorary pallbearers.
