Obituary for Reverend Wm. Harley Gayton

Reverend Wm. Harley  Gayton
Reverend Wm. Harley Gayton, 71, of Adairsville, left this world on Sunday, September 02, 2012 to rest in the arms of Abraham. He died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his children, after a brief illness.

Born April 17, 1941 in Acworth, he was a son of the late Silas Gayton and the late Alma Segars Gayton. Reverend Harley Gayton was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church and had served as a Pastor for many years at different churches in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gayton; a daughter, Angela Gayton; and a brother, Reverend Gene Gayton.

Survivors include his daughters, Tracy Shinall and her husband Tony, and Kelly Gayton and Welby Archer; son, Michael Gayton and his wife Holly; beloved granddaughters, Angie and Abby Gayton, all of Adairsville; sisters, JoAnn King and husband Joe of Cartersville, and Peggy Allen and her husband Leslie of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Hazel Gayton of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews; and special family friends, Almer and Rachel Hazelwood.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend James Parnham and The Reverend David Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 3, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
