Obituary for Betty Lou Lumpkin (Prather)

Betty  Lou   Lumpkin (Prather)
Betty Lou Prather Lumpkin, 75, of Cartersville passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her residence.

Born December 24, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Charlie Prather and the late Beatrice Ellis Prather. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lumpkin; her sons, Donny Gayton and Danny Gayton; her sister, Sarah Jo Soulis; her brothers, C.L. Prather and Tommy Prather; and her stepson, Berlon Gayton; and her grandson, Randy Leon Wimpy, Jr. Betty Lou was a homemaker who loved to garden, can vegetables and make jelly. She also enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include her daughters, Debby Baynard and Susan Gayton; her son-in-law, Fred Tellup; Debby’s fiancé, Danny Murphy; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Donald and Ruby Tilley; Marshall and Wilma Amos; her stepchildren, Billy Gayton, Betty Patterson, Birdie Hardin, Bonnie Sue Ingle, Benny Gayton, Bobby Gayton, Barry Gayton and Garry Gayton; her daughter-in-law, Wendy Gayton; her grandchildren, Kelly Lou Wimpy Duncan, Sarah Nicole Baynard, Ernest Dawayne Gayton, Misty Dawn Bell, Charles Jeffery Gayton, Stephanie Yother, Derrick Eugene Bell, Crystal Lynn Bell, Brandon Lamar Prather, Charlie (Nicole) Bell, Shawn Eugene Gayton and Hope Cigainero; and thirty-four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Euharlee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gunner Hampton, Jeff Duncan, David Ezell, Brandon Prather, Timothy Hovers, Tony Amos and Donald Tilley.
