Obituary for Brenda Canup Watkins
Ms. Brenda Canup Watkins, 65, of Cartersville, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at her home.
Born in Carrollton June 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late David Hutcheson Canup and Eula May Leopard Canup. She was a member of Freedom Worship Center, an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking and going to yard sales. Ms. Watkins was a loving mother, maw-maw, great-maw-maw and was a friends-friend. Brenda retired from the Waffle House after 35 years of dedicated service. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Violet Ann Bowen and her brother, Bobby Canup.
She is survived by her daughter, Tonya Veitch and husband, Gerald of Cartersville; her son, Ronnie Richardson and wife, Lora of Cartersville; eight grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Judy Rollins of Valley, Alabama; her brothers, Tony Canup of Cartersville, Charles Canup of Cleveland, David Canup of Kingston and Danny Canup of Cleveland; along with several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Jon Goltz, Pastor Ronnie Richardson and Reverend Gerald Veitch officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home from Noon until 1:30 p.m.
