Obituary for Edna Martin Ross

Edna Martin  Ross
Mrs. Edna “Eddie” Martin Ross, 65, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, April 6, 2015.

Born April 19, 1949 in Cartersville, she was a daughter of the late Talmadge Martin and the late Gladys Shellnut Martin. Together with her late husband, Earl Ross, who referred to her as “Babydoll”, she owned and operated Earl’s Restaurant and Bus Station, until closing the business in 1987. Edna then worked for the U. S. Postal Service, retiring after 25 years as a mail carrier. In addition to her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael McBee; and a brother, Curtis Martin.

Survivors include her daughters, Tracy Lee Nutter and her husband Thomas, and Wendy Davis; step-daughters, Lisa Johnson, and Kay Grissom; step-sons, Terry Ross, Steve Ross, Tracy Ross, and Tony Ross; sisters, Christine Shepard, and Kathy King; brother, Claude Martin; grandchildren, Josie Camp, Tatum Shindorf, Jenna Cates, Myles, Matthew, Shanna, and Katherine Ross; great-grandchild, Evie Cates; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Jim Pinkard and The Reverend Ronnie Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Greg Adcock, Brian Cox, Chris Smith, Edward Gilbert, Teddy Martin, and Stephen Nutter.
