Obituary for Russell Edward Wathey Sr.

Mr. Russell Edward Wathey, Sr., 65, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Mr. Wathey was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 31, 1950 and was the son of the late Charles Livingston Wathey and Rose Andrade Wathey. He enjoyed playing golf, coaching T-Ball and discussing politics. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Janice Wathey and his beloved son, Russell “Bubba” Wathey, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Coulter Wathey of Cartersville; his sister, Patricia Varner of Seekonk, Massachusetts; along with special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2015 at The Cartersville First Assembly Church located at 9 Assembly Drive with The Reverend Keith Wood officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
