Obituary for James Lloyd Blankinship

James Lloyd  Blankinship
Mr. James Lloyd Blankinship, 72, of Euharlee, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center.

Born December 21, 1943 in Austell, he was a son of the late James Oscoe Blankinship, and the late Era Edna Reece Blankinship. Mr. Blankinship was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Army, and retired from Lockheed Martin after 36 years of service. He passionately served his parents as their caretaker until their death, and was very generous with ALL that he had. Mr. Blankinship enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Blankinship.

Survivors include his daughter, Dana Blankinship Morgan and her husband Chris of Acworth; son, Daryl Blankinship and his wife Kathy of Cartersville; sisters, Janice Mitchell of Acworth, and Joyce Owenby of Birmingham, AL; brothers, Doyle Blankinship of Villa Rica, and Kenneth Blankinship of Portland, TN; 7 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date.

Those that choose to do so may send flowers, if not; the family has requested that you do something special for your loved one in memory of Mr. Blankinship.
