Obituary for Floyd "Junior" Hazlewood,

Mr. Floyd Lee “Junior” Hazlewood, age 85, of Cartersville, died at his residence on Monday, April 25, 2016. He is with Jesus and forever free from sickness, grief and sorrow. A native of Bartow County, Junior was born on September 5, 1930, the son of the late Floyd Lee Hazlewood, Sr. and Susie Irene Cooper Hazlewood.

Mr. Hazlewood was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was retired from Prestige Cable after 20 plus years of service. He had a huge smile and never met a stranger. Junior loved his family and enjoyed riding his tractors, eating out and socializing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ernest, Tommy and Marvin Hazelwood.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucile Goodwin Hazlewood of Cartersville; his children, Elvie Sutton, Beverly (Darryl) Broadaway, Jo Anne (Frank) Miller, and Joe Lee (Pam) Hazlewood all of Cartersville; his siblings, Sybil (Bobby) House, Charles “Pete” Hazelwood and Harold Hazelwood all of Cartersville; his sisters-in-law, Linda Hazelwood and Betty Hazelwood all of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Wells, Jason (Tiffany) Hazlewood, Brandon Broadaway and Cody Broadaway; his great-grandchildren, Brooke Wells, Courtney Hazlewood, Alexis Wells, Kalyrie Wells and Jordan Hazlewood.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with The Reverend David Baker, The Reverend Robby Chastain and The Reverend Chas Childers. Interment will follow in Cassville Cemetery. Mr. Hazlewood will be carried to the church on Friday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Hazlewood, Brandon Broadaway, Cody Broadaway, Hank Hazelwood, Rodney Hazelwood, Ryan Goodwin and Randall Hazelwood.

Flowers will be accepted, but for those who choose, donations may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
