Obituary for Willard Ray Clark

Mr. Willard Ray Clark, 73, of Cartersville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Cartersville, Georgia on February, 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Willard Clark and Sara Kate Moore Clark.

Mr. Willard was a member of Taylorsville Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia and was retired from the City of Cartersville as school maintenance and plumber. He was a veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. He loved his family, loved his church and loved his dogs. Mr. Willard was an avid softball player, having recently retired from playing. He was very proud of his military service in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Troy Clark.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Brenda Chambers Clark of Cartersville; his son, Bret Clark of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Callie Clark Arney (Joe) of Cartersville, Emily Clark of Cartersville, Andrew Clark of Cartersville; brother-in-law, Leon Wooten (Kay) of Rome; his nephews, John C. Wooten (Lorie) of Atlanta, Michael Wooten (Staci) of Atlanta; his great nieces, Katie Wooten of Atlanta, Anna Wooten of Atlanta; his great nephew, Chip Wooten of Atlanta; along with several special cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2nd, 2016 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Tommy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1st at the Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Keith Wilkey, Brenton Garmon, Mike Clark, Greg Sharpton, Mike Wooten and John Wooten will serve as Pallbearers.
Flowers will be accepted but for those who choose, donations may be made to American Heart Association.
