Obituary for Roy Eugene Chambers

Roy Eugene  Chambers
Mr. Roy Eugene Chambers, age 80, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2016 at Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Kingston, Georgia on July 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Sam P. Chambers and Jessie Mae Wade Chambers.

Mr. Chambers was a member of Atco Baptist Church and was an ordained Missionary Baptist Minister. He retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers after serving his country in the United States Army. He was a Mason, past Master Cartersville Lodge #63, a member of Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies and Daylight Lodge of Rockmart, and past Worthy Patron of Cartersville OES #429. Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Stark; 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Smith Chambers; his children, Victor Chambers, Dennis Chambers (Lisa) and Steve Chambers; his grandchildren, Amanda Marshall, Keesha Landers (Robert), Latisha Lawrence (Daniel), Heather Mann (Brent), Kendra Chambers, Amy Chambers and Braxton Hefner; along with eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Atco Baptist Church with The Reverend Doug Harris officiating. Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Flowers will be accepted, but for who choose, donations may be made to Atco Baptist Church Bus Ministry or Scottish Rite.
