Obituary for Jakob Christian Wilburn

Jakob Christian Wilburn, 13, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. A native of Bartow County born November 9, 2001, he was the son of Jessica and Jason Wilburn. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Jennifer Wilburn Walker; his Oma, Marianne Lutz; his Nanny, Mollie Huggins; his Granny, Lucy Wilburn, his Nana, Daisy Garrison and his Papa, Bill Garrison.
Jakob was a member of Cassville Baptist Church and the church choir. He was a devoted follower and witness for Jesus Christ. He attended Woodland Middle School where he played the baritone in the school band and sang in the school Chorus. Jakob was a loving son, a great big brother, and had a sweet, loving and gentle spirit about him.
He is survived by his parents, Jessica and Jason Wilburn of Cartersville; his siblings, Kayli and Erich Wilburn of Cartersville; his maternal and paternal grandparents, Mike and Marita (Mary) Freeman of Cartersville and Bill and Patty Wilburn of Acworth; his great-grand father, Columbus Wilburn of Lithia Springs; his aunts and uncles, Samantha Freeman of Acworth, Larry and Michelle Freeman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa Jeremy and Shae Wilburn of Adairsville, Bobbie and Dwayne Lowe of Rydal; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m, Sunday, November 23, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Ron Cansler, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday for two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Cassville Baptist Church Youth Fund, 1663 Cassville Road NW, Cartersville, Georgia 30120 in Jakob’s memory.
