I had been thinking of Dennis lately, as I hadn't heard anything from him in quite a few months.  We had corresponded from time to time over the years starting in about 2000.  I knew that he had been living in Placerville, CA for quite a few years, where (I think) he operating some kind of trucking business.  But, after he retired he decided to leave "the land of fruits and nuts" to move to White, Georgia.  I assumed he moved there to be closer to children.  I believe that he had lived in the Chino area prior to being in Placerville.

We attended Seaside Elementary together, and were both in the same Boy Scout trip, along with a few others that some of us knew (Richard Powell, Dave Pace, maybe Ernie for a short time??).  I'm attaching an old photo from about 1954 showing some of our scout troop getting ready to do the Silver Moccasin Hike (63 miles) in 1954.  This was taken at El Retiro Park.  I'm the little guy in ball cap, with Dennis in a yachting cap and Richard Powell in yachting cap and shades.  I remember us sleeping (or, trying to sleep) while under a picnic table in the rain in one of my first camping trips.  Good thing that we were young and not too bright.
